Company to Demonstrate Georgia Quality Management System
Disabilities and Aging Activities

Atlanta, GA (Sept 24, 2012)—Delmarva Foundation’s Georgia Quality Management System team— a Georgia–based, national leader in person-centered care for people with intellectual and Disabilities and Aging—will sponsor the Third Annual Georgia Gathering conference in Athens, Georgia on October 8–9, 2012. Delmarva’s Georgia Quality Management System team will demonstrate their activities designed to promote resources and ensure the quality of person-centered practices in Georgia. The conference is hosted by the Georgia Learning Community (Community Developers Association of Georgia) and provides an experience unlike other conferences of its kind. The conference brings people from across the state together to listen, learn, and share skills, ideas, stories, and experiences related to “person-centered” practices.

“Delmarva Foundation shares the Georgia Learning Community’s enthusiasm and dedication to promoting person-centered practices,” said Delmarva Foundation CEO, Thomas Jackson. “We are pleased to provide scholarship dollars to help make it possible for self-advocates to attend the conference.” The sponsorship also helps defray costs for the event program, registration materials, and other supplies.

Delmarva Foundation partners with the state of Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Disabilities and Aging (DBHDD) to improve the quality of support services for Georgia's citizens with Disabilities and Aging. It employs a team of two dozen who work throughout the state. “Our mission is helping people to live everyday lives through collaborative quality improvement strategies that promote a person-directed service delivery system,” said Delmarva Foundation Vice President for Disabilities and Aging Contracts, Bob Foley. “We hope to enhance the service delivery system with results that reflect the choices and preferences that people consider most important.”
